A flag pin is a small metal badge that carries a national flag design on the front. People wear them on a jacket lapel, a shirt collar, or an event lanyard. In Singapore, they appear most often around National Day and official visits.

The pin can hold one flag or two. A dual design, often called a friendship pin, sets two flags side by side. It suits delegation visits, twin-city partnerships and companies that work across borders. Both versions are built the same way.

Soft Enamel Build, Metal Base and Plating

Soft enamel begins with a die-struck metal base. Color is filled into the sunken areas, so the metal outlines stay raised. Run a finger across the surface, and you can feel that texture. Iron metal is standard, and zinc alloy is available as an upgrade.

Plating changes the look of every exposed metal line. Nickel, imitation gold and black nickel cost nothing extra. Matt gold, matt nickel and matt silver each add S$0.15 per pin. Gold tones usually flatter a flag design more than flat silver does.

Backings for Collars, Lapels and Lanyards

Every pin comes with a pin post and a clutch on the back. The butterfly clutch and rubber clutch are free. A safety pin adds S$0.30 each. Magnetic backings start at S$0.25 and hold the pin without piercing a uniform or a good jacket.

Sizes, Colors and Flag Artwork

Six sizes are available, from 19.1 mm up to 57.2 mm across, with 25.4 mm set as the default. Up to five colors are included in the base price. A sixth color adds S$0.10 per pin, and a seventh adds S$0.15.

Send your flag artwork or logo, and the team will prepare a free mockup before anything is made. Thin lines and small lettering are worth checking at this stage. Soft enamel needs a clear metal border between colors, so crowded artwork loses detail.

Using the Singapore National Flag on a Pin

If your pin carries the Singapore national flag, check the current MCCY and National Heritage Board guidelines before you order. Commercial and decorative use is allowed without approval during the National Day period, from 1 July to 30 September, when the flag is treated respectfully.

Packaging, Gifting and Ordering Flag Pins

Polybag packaging is free. For gifting, a pouch or a plastic box adds S$0.75 each, and a presentation box adds S$1.25. Printed backing cards are offered in 54 x 86 mm and 60 x 40 mm, both with a one-off charge.
